Job Title: Manager of Commercial Product Design

Job Description: Lead, supervise, manage, motivate, and assess team of Product Designers. Lead team in creative planning, conceptualization, and design specification configuration of consumer electronics products such as landline telephones, Bluetooth headsets, stereo headphones, mp3 audio/media players, Android tablets, and e-reader devices. Make final determinations regarding retail package design, User manual design/layout, related promotional goods (brochures, catalogs, posters, POP stands) to enhance sales. Responsible for overall implementation of entire design process, including design conceptualization, functionality determination, marketability potential assessment, sales feasibility, cost-benefit analysis, project implementation, final production, and post production monitoring of all projects, including customer satisfaction levels. Evaluate and perform final review of design concepts and blueprints of subordinate Product Designers, directing and ordering adjustments/modifications as needed. Supervise and manage work performance of all team members, including making recommendations directly to the President regarding hiring, firing, promotions, and conflict resolution issues. Responsible for final assessment of project viability for direct presentation to President. Organize and schedule work for subordinate Product Designers. Establish performance standards. Identify and manage all resources to support product line development, including required research methodologies and deadline considerations.

Job Requirements: Must possess at minimum a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Product Design or related and two years relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Product Design or related and two years experience as Commercial Product Designer or related.
